Dear Fag Ends

I came to your meeting about eight weeks ago and it was recommended I take ‘Champix’ as a twelve week course, well after choosing Day 12 as my quit date I’ve now been “off the fags” for 6 weeks on Easter Sunday.  I was completely ready to pack ‘em in’ which has helped me this time round as on two other occasions I was only half hearted and worried how I would feel during ‘packing in’, however six weeks on it feels like I’ve never smoked.  I feel healthier and friends and family have complimented on me on how fresh and clear my complexion is and at 44 years old after smoking for 33 of those!  (eek!) that has been a boost.  I’d ran out of excuses and decided now was ‘right’ for me!

I changed my daily routine and instead of going downstairs to put the kettle on and smoke 5-8 rollies (no kidding) I went straight to the bathroom and took a lovely shower, brushed my teeth and came downstairs ‘feeling and smelling fresh’ I popped out for a quick walk to pick up a paper came back and I haven’t looked back since.  I just found out Im to become a nan for the first time and have started to put the money Ive saved on tobacco in a post office Xmas account, I already have £80!
