Quitting Smoking

No Smoking Day 2011

Time to quit?

The national No Smoking Day campaign, the UK’s leading health campaign for smokers who want to quit, is coming up on 9th March 2011. This campaign is great news for smokers in that it creates a supportive environment for them to quit and highlights the local sources of help and advice available.

Smoking is not only the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in the UK; but if you are a 20-a day smoker, spending approximately £6.00 per pack of cigarettes, quitting would
save you £2,190 in a single year!

Each year over a million people quit smoking on No Smoking Day – so if you are a smoker and are thinking the time is right, why not get the support you need to make it happen! Roy Castle FagEnds
encourage residents who smoke to consider quitting on No Smoking Day.

Evidence shows that smokers that accessed NHS stop smoking services to quit are four times more likely to succeed than those that try to do it on their own! The service is free, effective and it is
tailored to meet your personal needs.
